The Flatshare is a romantic comedy written by the Sunday Times bestselling author Beth O’Leary. This book has also become a major TV series on Paramount+.
In this heart-warming novel, Tiffy Moore shares a one-bedroom flat with Leon Twomey. They also share a bed, but they have never met each other.
Leon stays in the flat while Tiffy is at work all day. Then she takes over the flat the rest of the time while Leon works in the evenings and spends the weekend with his girlfriend.
Their friends think they’re crazy, but this unusual arrangement seems to be working out for the both of them at the beginning. They leave little post-it notes around the flat and get to know each other’s habits although they haven’t seen each other.
But then their lives soon get intertwined unintentionally when Tiffy finds out about Leon’s brother who was arrested for a crime he did not commit, and Leon meets Tiffy’s obsessive ex-boyfriend. Suddenly, this flatshare becomes more complicated than they expected.
I really loved this story. The chapters were short and easy to read. I liked how each chapter started with each of the main character’s point of view and the author made it easy to get to know the personalities of each of the characters.
The things Tiffy and Leon had to face in the book are an indication of what happens to people in real life.
I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading other books by Beth O’Leary. I recommend this book to young adults who love reading romantic comedies.
